The Beginning Reader's Bible

The Beginning Reader's Bible is not actually book for beginners. This Bible Story book is suitable for children who are able to read or for younger who enjoy pictures whilst parents are reading.

Oficially it's meant to be for children from 4 to 8. It is divided into three parts – 13 stories from Old Testament, 13 stories from New Testament and 12 Resources to Guide Children which include e.g. Books of the Bible, Jesus Loves Me song or The Ten Commandments.

Each story is 2-4 pages long which is enough to keep attention of the reader or listener. Each story contains Remember God's Word and Prayer God's Word box which is memory verse and prayer connected with the story and Do God's Word which is some fun activity for the child to do.

Illustrations made by Marijke ten Cate are very nice with lot of details included. I appreciated that text is not rhymed but uses real passsages from the International Children’s Bible®. One thing I missed is that despite of the fact that there is table of contents in the beginning of the book, there are no page numbers in the book.

But overally I do recommend this Bible story book as this is one of the best in the market according to my opinion.

Then Sings My Soul

I ordered book Then Sings My Soul – Special Edition by Robert J. Morgan because I like singing and I like stories. This book connects both my hobbies. And the cover is very nice! Whole book is printed on ivory paper with special edging.

There is 150 hymns divided into five sections – Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Patriotic and Other Favourites. There are hymns like Amazing Grace, Because He Lives, Day by Day; Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee and many more. Each part is chronologicly ordered. Every hymn is on two pages, first one is music and words of whole hymn so if you can play an instrument, this book can be a songbook for you as well. It doesn't contain accords. Second page beginns with title, year of origin and Bible verse connected with hymn. Then there is description part where Robert Morgan make you acquainted with author of the hymn, his life and story behind the hymn. In the end there are three indices – ordered by title, author of hymn and first line of hymn.

This book is good for everyone who wants to know where does his favourite hymn comes from, who likes singing, musicians or who likes history in general.

God's Promises for Girls

God's Promises for Girls by Jack Countryman and Amy Parker is an amazing book! I haven't got children yet but I will definetely use this book when I have. In my opinion is this book a very good start how to speak with little girls about God and His place in their lives and how to get them interested in the Bible. And the illustrations are amazing! On each page you can find nice picture, title and Bible verse which is connected with the topic. Verses are from the International Children’s Bible® so children can understand better. It is done for whole bunch of situations in life – when the girl is scared, lonely, afraid of something, sad, worried, angry or things like trusting in God, feeling like a princess... It is most likely for girls aged 7-10 or maybe less. I love this book!

I would highly recommend it to everyone who has little girl.
